O fasting men and women, how today resembles yesterday!  The days pass so quickly as if they are mere moments.  We just welcomed and said goodbye to the last Ramadan.  Now only a few months later, which felt like a few hours, we are again welcoming a month of fasting.

How many people did we know who were with us in Ramadan a number of years ago but they abide in their graves awaiting their resurrection and meeting with their Lord.

This may be the last Ramadan for some of us.  The fact that we have reached Ramadan is a favour and gift from our Lord.  It is a glad tiding and blessing for which we should shed many tears.
